Today we finished up with group math activities and moved onto small group activities. Scoot was a huge hit! Participants were very interested in it and very motivated to participate.
I would say overall the idea of math centres wasn’t overly enthusiastically accepted when it was first when introduced to participants. People like the idea of them but I got a sense that they believe it’s either too much work to put together or they aren’t sure how they would fit them in because they have so much curriculum to cover. After putting participants in groups of 4 and having them participate in centres today I believe more of them will be motivated to give them a try in their classroom. I would say they were having just as much fun as their students would be!
